Avalon Kindergarten has spacious landscaped grounds, which include an extensive shaded sandpit, children's gardens and wilderness area. The kindergarten is adjacent to Avalon Primary School and close to Naenae Intermediate and college. The centre provides a warm, friendly environment for families from a diverse range of ethnic groups, which adds to the very special character of the kindergarten. Children are given a sense of belonging through the use of personal profile books, which include photographs, artwork and developmental information for their time at the kindergarten. The centre offers a high quality of programmes and the stimulating, challenging and interesting learning environment that is offered supports the key strengths of skill development, music, literacy and numeracy.
