Moera Kindergarten sits on a large, sheltered and sunny site with safe, off-street parking, close to the Moera shopping area and public transport and currently hosts children from more than 17 different cultural backgrounds. The celebration of cultural diversity in the kindergarten community is a key strength of the teaching team and the programme offered at the centre. The kindergarten environment has been developed to reflect this diversity and the teaching programme integrates aspects of early literacy and numeracy using both English and a number of the children's first languages. Family/whanau involvement at the kindergarten is evident every day - both in helping to manage the centre, and in working with the teaching team to plan the programme for the children.
