Torbay Kindergarten holds the honour of being the first kindergarten within the Northern Auckland Association. Torbay is an older established area of the East Coast Bays having grown from the summer bach area where city dwellers spent their Christmas holidays and summers, to a more settled place where young families are catered for with new housing subdivisions appearing. The Kindergarten is staffed with three fully qualified teachers and caters for 45 children per session. The Kindergarten feeds into three local primary schools.
