Patea Kindergarten is situated at the southern end of Patea. It has a roll
of 30 children who attend morning sessions. It is staffed by two
qualified and registered teachers at all times.
Patea is a community-based kindergarten and our philosophy is to provide quality
early childhood education in which children's individual needs are recognised
and promoted in a healthy and safe environment. The children are encouraged to
be independent, to respect each other, their environment, belongings and work.
They learn to help one another, to be away from parents and whanau for a short
time, to take turns, to share and be responsible for their own actions.
At kindergarten we believe in providing individual programmes for children to
prepare them for life experiences in a positive way, through developing a
child's communications, intellectual, social and emotional skills.
